The initial beta of Target Korea will include two jets: the F-86F-30 Sabre and the MiG-15bis. After the game is released, Targetware will make available additional Korean War aircraft. Players will also be able to create and fly their own aircraft, as well as personalized skins, ground objects, 3-D models and terrains.
MiG-15bis
As the UN forces advanced past the 38th parallel, having pushed back the initial North Korean advance, the Russians entered the war with their new MiG-15 jet interceptor. It featured a light, stubby airframe, and a powerful jet engine copied from the Rolls Royce Nene, giving it excellent climb performance and a high service ceiling.
While the wings were swept back for high speed performance, they lacked dihedral, which contributed to directional instability at high Mach numbers, as well as a nasty tendency to spin. MiG pilots found it difficult to aim at high speeds while fighting heavy, unboosted controls, and the situation was compounded by slow firing cannon and insufficient ammunition. However, the nimble fighter could both out-turn and out-climb its primary opponents, and if the large caliber cannon did connect, they were certain to destroy any target.

F-86F-30 Sabre
The F-86 Sabre was hurried into action during the Korean War to meet the threat posed by the Russian built MiG-15. With no swept-wing jets in theater at the beginning of the conflict, the FEAF was initially hard pressed to deal with marauding MiGs. The Sabre redressed this imbalance.
With swept wings and supersonic dive capability, the Sabre was as fast or faster than the MiG. This high-speed advantage, combined with effective, hydraulically boosted flight controls, made the F-86 an impressive opponent. However, its gun package consisted of only 6 M3 0.50 caliber machineguns. While more than enough 10 years earlier, it often proved too light in Korea, and many pilots reported putting their entire ammunition load into a MiG only to watch it fly away.
